Basic Skills
Program
The Basic Skills Program serves our most challenged clients, using
goal-oriented methods to help clients develop and maintain basic life
functional skills. This program is designed to maximize a person's
independence through training in such areas as self care, socialization,
communication, leisure and vocational skills. Participants engage
in at least one to two community activities per week. Community outings
are designed to stress mobility and community travel skills. Outings
utilize and build on skills in the areas of cognitive, personal care,
work assimilation, arts, and domestic skills. Community outings include:
